Join us for a hands-on exploration in clay with sculptor Lisa Reinertson who will share her sculpting expertise and the influences animal-human mythology has on her work. The day will begin with a tour of current exhibitions and slideshow, followed by a short lunch break in the museum (please bring lunch).
Working small-scale, and with the theme of animal-human relationships, students will create using imagination and/or may bring an animal-of-choice photo as a visual reference.
Known for both her life size figurative ceramic sculptures and her large-scale public sculptures cast in bronze, Lisa's work has an underlying poetic humanism which often reflects her ideals of peace and social justice. Her sculpture, Wolf Rider, is currently on display in our Forge and Stone exhibition.
